Russia says Ukraine needs to be de-nazified and de-militarized.
I wonder if there is a way to measure the Nazi level of a country? Perhaps a silly question since no agreed definition of Nazi and if one were to try, measurements would be subjective.
Why does Russia feel Ukraine needs to be de-militarized? Of course Ukraine feels Russia needs to be de-militarized as does much of the world.
No sane politician would abide by those demands (one of them is bullshit)

The only way for war to end is if Russia leaves all of Ukraine, per the 2013 borders. Anything less it to reward Russia.

...Of course Ukraine feels Russia needs to be de-militarized as does much of the world...
Yes, it would be nice if demilitarization happens globally and not just for a few nations.

...Why does Russia feel Ukraine needs to be de-militarized?...
Demilitarization was done in Japan already so it's not a new idea:

"When the war ended, it was the common intent of all the Allied Powers to render Japan incapable of ever returning to the field of battle. "Demilitarization" was thus the first policy of the Occupation authorities and was accompanied by abolishing Japan's armed forces, dismantling its military industry, and eliminating the expression of patriotism from its schools and public life."

According to NATO, Ukraine has put as many as 40,000 Russian soldiers out of action for the battlefield due to being killed, wounded, imprisoned, or missing...:

That's a very heavy casualty number in just 1 month compared with the Russian invasion in Afghanistan with about 15,000 dead but that's over a much longer period of 10 years.

...de-nazified...

It will be hard because even the US has neo-Nazis but at least they are not officially and publically saying they are the US government, unlike the Azov Battalion that is integrated into the Interior Ministry.

Nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera was given the title of "Hero of Ukraine" on 1/22/2010 by pro-US President Viktor Yushchenko and it was quickly condemned by The European Parliament, Russia, Polish, and Jewish politicians and organizations. Many still honor him every year as late as this picture on 1/1/2022 in Kyiv:

Imagine how hard it is to remove the statue of Confederate General Lee in Charlottesville, VA that left 1 person dead and dozens injured.

and @Terminator857

All countries have political extremists, at both ends of spectrum. Almost always due to some grievance.

According to Wiki sources, Azov Battalion became an official Ukrainian Militia after the Russian invasion of 2014.

WHY is there neo-Nazi groups in Ukraine? At the simplest, they are anti-Soviet and by extension anti-Russian group. With over 100 years of Russian conquest, control, and terror (Holodomor), the Ukrainians demand independence. (Would not surprise me if Azov Bat is pro-Jewish, despite being called neo-nazi)

Couple of short video's.
This starts about 120 years ago, roughly source for Putins rational for invasion.

Worth to see all this.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexey Reznikov has said he is feeling “cautiously optimistic” following talks with key US government figures, led by President Joe Biden, in the Polish capital, Warsaw, on Saturday. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken also joined the meeting, along with Kiev’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.

Speaking afterwards to journalists, Kuleba said his country had received “additional promises from the United States on how our defense co-operation will evolve.” The official also revealed that Kiev and Washington had agreed on possible ways to put pressure on European Union states to press them to impose more sanctions on Russia.

A statement published by the White House said President Biden had updated the two Ukrainian ministers on “US efforts to rally the world in support of Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression,” as well as its “ongoing actions to hold President Putin accountable.” Those actions were being taken “in coordination with our allies and partners,” the readout noted, “including through the new sanctions announced by the president in Brussels on March 24.”

The talks in Poland marked the first face-to-face meeting between Biden and leading Ukrainian officials since the launch of Russia’s offensive on February 24.

"Today is a real opportunity to thank the United States for everything it has done for Ukraine so far. We thank every nation – not all assistance is reported in the media, but I know what every country has done, and we thank every one of them. But no one has done more for Ukraine throughout this time than the United States," the foreign minister stressed.

U.S. system described as constipated when it comes to supplying Ukraine with more advanced SAM systems.
Quote: On S-300s to Ukraine. “The transfer of any system is being closely scrutinized by the White House and National Security Council as to whether or not it meets their test of what’s escalatory and what’s not. That’s causing the system to be constipated.”
