Printed (Vinyl Sticker) Front Plate -- Experiences?

I just got my first fixit ticket (after 6 months of ownership and maybe 12 times parking in meters downtown San Francisco) for not having a front plate on my Model X. I am not going to drill three holes in my brand new bumper so I am looking into a long term solution.

I understand there are no drill options. I am intrigued by the idea of a printed Reflective Vinyl Sticker that I can stick on the front. I saw a Model X at the Tesla Store in SF that had it and I think it looks better than the real thing. I understand that this is probably not exactly legal but I think a judge/cop would probably not spank me that hard if its my own plate.

Is there anyone out there that has a printed Vinyl Sticker front plate that has had either good or bad experiences with parking control or law enforcement officers pertaining to the Vinyl Sticker front plate?

Thanks. Do you have this? Any risk of breaking the plastic it affixes to if someone backs into you?

i have THE LAW on my car. it's not hard to install but wasn't totally easy either...took me about 15 minutes or so of wrangling.

the sticker looks better though.

yes, if someone backs into you, the plastic probably will break off. it hasn't broken off on mine but i also don't parallel park very often.

Thanks for the reply. Any risk in the plastic in the air intake breaking if someone backs into the front of the car while parking??

yes, if someone backs into you, the plastic probably will break off. it hasn't broken off on mine but i also don't parallel park very often.

Aren’t you worried about the hood bending of someone backs into you? I believe on the S, the front most lip of the hood extends past the bumper (if no license plate).

Is the X the same?
