qTes.la Geolocation Issues

Hey everybody. I have been struggling to figure out the problems with the geolocation for my weather and radar pages on qTesla for weeks now. I stripped down the implementation to basic html5 geolocation and it's still breaking in the car (Model 3 at least).

Does anybody have any insight or suggestions? The project is open source here: JaredBanyard/qTesla

Cheers!
Jared

I suspect you were encountering the bug where the Tesla browser wouldn’t ask for geo permission when you load a page. This started many months back when Tesla switched to the Chromium endging for the browser. The workaround was to load the page that wanted your location, close the browser, relaunch the browser, now approve the permission request for your location.

The v10 updates (2019.32.11.1) from last week addressed this issue. The browser now prompts for your location right away instead of having to close and launch the browser.
