Question about the trade in process

so we got the trade in value from tesla for what they will pay us for our old gas car. We accepted the amount and uploaded pictures of the car like they asked. They said it was good to go after that. They added all the finally numbers to the Final purchase agreement and we owed some money to tesla for the negative equity of our car. Alliant CU wired the funds for the loan for the tesla..

. so my question is, can they still deduct from the trade in value once they physically see the trade in car? Like if it has more miles on it now then what was sent to them? Or if they arnt happy with the condition of it in person. Or can't they do this since the purchase agreement was signed and sent off to the bank and no further play in numbers?

We take delivery next week so we are still rucking up the miles on our car.

When I traded in my ICE jeep to tesla they sent someone to my house to inspect the vehicle prior to giving a price. The guy measured paint thickness and meticulously inspected the vehicles condition. The trade in value presented by tesla via email did have a mileage limit on it and due to delays with my CPO being ready I got approval by the trade-in team to increase the mileage.

When it came time to hand over the car the delivery specialist did a brief walk-around of my trade and we were on our way with nothing heard about it after.

After I uploaded the pictures, no one saw my trade in until I signed the car's title off to them. Even then, they did not inspect it. I expected them to shave off some for some issues but they didn't.

It was a worry-free experience for me as well. I even asked what is the reasonable amount of miles driven before I surrender the keys, just to make sure (I live about 40 miles away from SC and I still had to commute daily till my car was ready for pick up). nobody broke a sweat over the additional miles. Of course, I was being reasonable and didn't do any crazy road trips ;)
