This is bit off topic. Last year I never got my tags. I got all worried, went down to DMV ready to rumble. No problem. Sometimes they get lost in the mail. So if more time then is reasonable passes, go on down, or call them up. No charges, not too much hassle.

Just got it in the mail yesterday. Picked up my MY on Jun 12. So about 5 weeks.

Just got my plates today. Delivered via USPS and was placed in front of my door.

Took delivery of the Model Y on June 27th. Roughly 3 1/2 weeks.

Just another note. Don't forget to apply for the California Clean Vehicle Rebate Project and the PG&E Clean Fuel Rebate (only applies if you use PG&E for gas and electric).

still no plates...8 weeks this Wednesday...need to call Tesla and make sure they sent in paperwork

58 days now, going on 2 months on the 30th, no plates I called Tesla Carlsbad and they assured me that all paperwork was submitted. Will give the DMV one more week before I call them.

Just an FYI for those who say they're missing tags, you can purchase new tags at AAA if you're a member. They handle most DMV requests (except for license renewals) and is FAR easier than trying to get in touch with the DMV, especially now with Covid. As soon as my plates arrive, I'm going straight over to AAA to apply for Legacy plates. Already have the DMV form filled out. Picked up my PUP on June 25 and still waiting for plates/registration.

I picked up my Y on May 29th and I haven't received my license plate. Has anyone who picked up their car after this date received their plate?

Since I got my pink slip for the car, I know that the problem isn't on Tesla's end. I was just wondering how Covid is impacting license plates.

It took one of my co-workers months to get her plates from the CA DMV. I got mine from AZ to CA in half the time.

I remember moving to az from California, they gave me my plates on the spot.

Another data point, I took delivery June 14 and just received my plate in the mail today.

called DMV, after on phone waiting 50 minutes, told that they started working on my plate order July 21 and should be getting soon...8 weeks tomorrow...did give me my plate number though

Took delivery of 2016 MS from Tesla 5/22. Nothing from DMV yet. Must be in DMV system because SMUD "found" my car and let me add it to my account for reduced charging rate between midnight and 5am. Car must be registered to your address to get the discount.

Just got a call from Tesla Sat 8/1. Registration got rejected by DMV because they didn't get one form completed correctly. Had to take car to them today so they could do form. Something about car coming in from our of state (Nevada), but I already knew that (Carfax).

Took delivery 6/25 and no plates yet. However, I had mobile service here on Friday and looking at their invoice, I saw a plate number. So, I would guess that my plates will arrive in the next week or two now that a plate number is assigned.

After applying for my CA EV rebate on July 7th, I got a check today (August 3rd). I got the PG&E rebate about a week ago.

Delivered 6/25 Costa Mesa (Irvine overflow). Title arrived over a week ago.

Plates arrived today, 3 August. Quick trip to Auto Club to exchange those for my personalized plates formerly on the MS, and rebate app completed to So Cal Edison for $1,000 rebate.

But it was completely weird to see the title arrive prior to the plates and registration (and the title showing the serialized plates I just got today).

Yeah, they use a third party service to do all their DMV work, so DMV couldn't help.

They did say to allow up to 8 weeks, so you've got another three to go.
