Radar and Snow

I've had my AWD M3LR for almost 3 weeks now. LOVE it! No complaints. I absolutely understand why this happened but wanted to post my experience. Driving home in the first wet snow of the season on 11/9 and got a message about radar being unable to see. I figured that there was snow building up on the front. It was very wet and I assumed that the water was the issue. That disabled autopilot and TACC. All completely understood. I thought maybe it would downgrade to standard cruise but it did not. I guess one might say that I shouldn't be using cruise in that situation anyway. This is not a complaint I just thought I'd share my experience.

That's a good question. The sonar did not seem effected when I pulled into the garage. I was thinking about heated nose. And heaters around cameras.

I wouldn't say never, but I think FSD is much more difficult than computer engineers want to admit. Snow covered roads will be out of the realm of FSD for decades. Driving is a more fluid and difficult task than most give it credit.
