After months of research I ended up buying this radar detector last year...and never got it installed. I've decided to not install it after all. It's 100% brand new and unused, paid $1,850. Willing to part with it for $1,650. This is one of the absolute best detectors on the entire market currently, and installs behind your car bumpers with a hidden display mounted anywhere inside the dash. This is necessary for most Tesla's, as the windshield coating interferes with the radar reception. If you want to add ALP, it's a simple add-on as well to this unit.

Fwiw, I use a windshield mount radar detector in my model y with no issues. Be very careful mounting radar behind metallic painted bumpers. You will lose a lot of range.
