I was not day one, but after waiting for months we decided to go ahead and get a new Model S 75 D, which increased our priority. We also wanted a Model 3 with D, and no need for long range battery. However, I feel that we are better with getting the $49k current offering than waiting. Since we have the S for all our long range travels the Model 3 will by my wife's daily commute vehicle and do not need D for San Diego driving.

She had the Nissan Leaf as a daily driver for over 3.5 years until it was rear-ended and the insurance company totaled it. She was side-swiped 5 times in her parking garage at work. Of course no one left a note so we ended up paying the $500 deductible each time. She absolutely does not want that to happen to her new S so will not drive it to work.
