Rear View Camera

What are people's thought on the rear view camera for the Model 3?

I really like how you can have it always on, in the S and X.

Based on the horizontal screen and the alpha interface, I am wondering if having it on while driving forward will be possible.

That sounds good but each screen would be only about 6.5 X 4 each. The nice thing about the S and X screen is you can have two good size split screens. If you tried to split the screen evenly on the 3 it would be appx. 13 X 4 for a wide screen or 6.5 X 8. Maybe the 6.5 X 8 would work.

Yes, but those cars would not have 3 other potential screens to distract and be in the way of your site.

With Tesla looking at things to cut from the car, I wouldn't be surprised if they said AP/FSD in Model 3 would use sensors instead.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that it would require all automobiles sold in the United States built beginning in May 2018 to include backup cameras. Now some Model 3's will roll before then but the bulk will be delivered after.

A rear-view camera is almost standard these days. I can't imagine Tesla would omit it.

I am certain it will have the rear view camera. What I am hoping is that it will be able to be on while driving forward like on an S and X. I really enjoyed the camera as an extra mirror on the S and X since both of the rear view windows are tiny.
