Rear wheel well liner question

Has anyone come up with a hack fix for this issue where the felt part has kinda started sticking out and looks separated?

I tried using double sided tape but it doesn't want to stick

How about double-sided tape on the inside of the plastic bumper cover, and then gorilla tape on the wheel well material to the double-sided tape?

Service Center told me the rear wheel liner on my 22 M3 was normal. Checked several new cars at the center and sure enough, most were the same. Not exactly top quality in my opinion.

Do you (or anyone else) find that the wheel well liners make chattering sounds under certain circumstances? I’ve been hearing a vibrational/chattering sound sometimes when I go over rough or uneven road, especially at low speeds. Not sure if it’s the wheel well liners, but it would make sense.

Anyone have an idea if the felt material is for sound damping, and if so how much difference does it make over the traditional smooth plastic fender liners that seem like they would be far more durable and shed off dirt/dust and water so much better?

How many manufactures utilize that felt material for wheel well liners?

I know a few Lotus cars have that material, curious if that is a hold over from the Elise/roadster possibly?

The wheel liners on these cars were not designed overly well. The front and back are both about 1/8" undersized to tuck away properly behind wheel well edges.
