Referral Code, too late or too soon?

hi,

I ordered my Model X a wile a go and I is scheduled to be delivered in the next 3 weeks.
A friend of my gave me his Referral Code.. but how can I use it?
Should I have used it in the ordering process? or can I use it once my car is delivered?

Some corporate and local sales people will be willing to add a code for you before delivery. After delivery it is impossible.

If you had used the referral link it should always keep a code for you but there is some debate about whether anyone would change the code without your permission. Referrers will occasionally complain about this happening but sometimes the buyer will change codes and tell the first referrer "I don’t know what happened."
