Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

For an exterior this actually looks surprisingly good for a refreshed Model X (it would still be bad for basically any other brand of car, of course).

Jury is still out on the interior I assume (since you didn't get to open it). Were you able to spot the yoke worm?
I wasn’t allowed in the car. They wouldn’t even let me inspect the outside but I found it anyway and did it.

On my way home they called me to ask if I wanted to have them deliver it at home tomorrow. That I’d have to “accept” for it to be done. I laughed and said hell no. I also told them about the issues I found and they said they’d look into them to fix before I arrive tomorrow. They had me email them pictures and all. They called back saying that in order to fix the panel issue they’d have to move other stuff that could make things worse. I told them they had a day to figure it out.

I like your attitude, way to go. I would do the same. And good luck tomorrow.

I actually believe that. Close enough. It’s like when my kids try to clean up play-doh on the carpet. Don’t let them touch it.

I second the curiosity about the yoke worm. My wife hates the current horn, but she doesn’t know this car will be mine yet. Please let us know and good luck tomorrow!

I forgot... one more question about your exterior. How was the paint on your bumper? My reject (also white) had a horrible mismatch. Another white delivery in a different thread looked the same. Just a much warmer tone on the bumper.

I remember this was also a big issue with the Model 3 ramp. At some point the theory was that the paint bonds to the plastic of the bumper differently than the aluminum... which makes sense... but also isn't our problem (Tesla should be capable of matching the colors).

EDIT: Here's the other poster's photo (as an example of the bumper paint mismatch).

That looks horrible, I would reject that and be done with Tesla.

Tesla has announced that they built 1 million 4680 cells in January. Where did they go? How many cells are in one car?
Key points:

1. Those batteries were produced at Tesla’s Kato Road pilot line in Fremont.

2. We have no idea of actual production rate. Was that 1000 in the first 18 months and the rest last month? Spread evenly in that time? Something in between?

3. None of that is enough to deliver at production volume. They will need Austin to produce first and at a high rate.

As Tesla often talks before it can walk, I’m very skeptical they will soon produce them in volume.

4. I know jack. I also know Jack, who’s a really nice guy.

Dude looks you got a good one based on the exterior. Not seeing any orange peel with the paint, bumper matches, alignment appears acceptable. Just push to let them open/close the wings especially and all doors/frunk/trunk a few times and check for metal rubbing. That’s the alignment test. Curious if others see anything serious.

Edit: drunk to frunk
