Thank you for popping in now and again to share you your experiences, your positivity helps keep the dream alive lol.

I too want to try out FSD on a subscription basis and was wondering, after I click the subscribe button, does the 100 mi AP drive start or do they count the previous 100 mi driven in the last 30 days?
After you subscribe FSD (monthly) - you have to request FSD Beta, from the car, then your Safety Score will start (in the phone app).

From my experience, once you log in about 100 miles with Safety Score is when they consider you for acceptance in the Beta. Elon recently, as stated in the forum earlier, will release the beta to Safety Score 80 or higher. Acceptance to the Beta is not guaranteed - some people get in right away and some are still waiting despite high Safety Score.

This is how I got to FSD Beta, using FSD Subscription:

A. Drive using AP (as much as possible) to at least 100 miles and drive like I was testing for my driver's license with the DMV tester as my passenger....until you get FSD Beta. ;-)
1. Started the subscription the night before an early Sunday morning (less traffic) drive in the freeway using AP (did like 80 miles that morning).
2. Drove like in A above, then got accepted to FSD Beta one week later.

I suggest tho to be first familiar with how AP/TACC works before going straight for FSD Beta.
YMMV. Good luck!

Thank you for the very helpful instructions! I’ve driven on AP quite a bit, will give it a go soon.

I went to my scheduled pickup today for my Model X Plaid MSM. Saw a huge door ding on the passenger side door and rejected. There were some paint scuffs, but that door ding totally killed it. Back in line I go. I'm going to reserve an R1S. I did not even bother inspecting the inside.

Tesla! Come on!!!!
Was this MSM Plaid in Colma? They have one listed in inventory now with same config.

I got the plaid badge instead of the word PLAID. Anyone know what the requirements are for the badge now? I’m not complaining but I think I like the subtlety of the words instead of the badging. The car is flashy enough as it is! LOL
They switched from the word to the symbol badging many months ago. If you want the word you'll have to buy something aftermarket, remove the other one and install it yourself.

I posted this in the 7-seater forums, but wanted to share with everyone here also! Thanks to everyone for such awesome support during this 15 month process!

Picked up the car yesterday, walked around for 20-30 mins looking over the car and no apparent issues that I can see! Everything seems aligned well, tightly put together, falcon wing doors really well aligned and function perfectly, panel gaps seem great! I was very pleasantly surprised. And car drives wonderfully overall!

Driving home from the Tesla center, I felt a bit strange with the Yoke, but mostly with straight line driving, it was fine really. My wife decided yesterday evening, however, we pick up a large furniture item from a semi-local store, which turned out to be a winding drive around some of the LA hills. This really made the lack of a round steering wheel apparent. I was really excited for something new in the Yoke, but I think it’ll take a bit of time to get used to having driven last night. We did get to see the flexibility of the 7 seater, as we had to fold down the second and third rows entirely to get the furniture item to fit! Day 1, and the 7 seat config flexibility came to use!

I was surprised at how useful the screen tilt is to be honest, just was much easier to glance at the screen while driving by myself from the dealership.
I’m still trying to see what my preferences are for the suspension tuning. The roads to the furniture store were less than ideal and really tested the suspension of the X, for that drive we used comfort mode. I prefer driving in sport suspension mode overall from my experience, X seems more planted down w/ some sporty intentions. Really a lot of fun in the sport suspension mode. Acceleration is fantastic of course no complaints there!

Just an awesome looking, awesome driving car, really was worth the wait!
I agree about the Yoke, I believe it is a gimmick.
The Yoke is not toooooo bad, but the touchscreen High Beam is really terrible.
I had not seen anywhere online how it actually works which requires a short press to flash or a long press to keep high beams on.
I have pretty long digits but the location of the High Beam button is so awkward and far away from the part of the Yoke you hold onto, its near the horn airbag.
Turn signals are not nearly as bad but unlike a stalk where you can get 3 blinks with a short throw, the Yoke turn signals need to be pressed once for on and pressed again for off, or you have to go into settings and have the car guess when to turn them off based on if it thinks you are in the 'final lane' after many blinks.

451 days later I finally got assigned my VIN. Just updated tracking doc. My SA has been amazing and switched me from cash to financing right away. 2.75% rate lock on 60 month with First Entertainment Credit Union. (See my earlier post with loan terms)

The text I got a week ago saying to expect delivery before end of month was accurate. EoQ push is real!

My EDD has still not updated with a window of
Oct 4 - Nov 15th. After completing all tasks I still don’t have an assigned delivery date. Will call my SA tomorrow and hope for some answers on a Sunday.

June 2021 initial order. White/black, 7 seater, 22 wheels. Los Angeles (Marina del Rey pickup), no FSD.

Stay tuned…..

I completed a 500 mile drive yesterday and here are my thoughts for those interested. Much smoother and quieter than my pre-raven X. Almost as quiet and smooth as my sisters X7. Fob worked much better for auto presenting door than using my phone, too bad they cheaped out on providing them. Floor mats are much cheaper as well, the X i sold still felt much more plush. I think our Y seats are actually more comfortable but maybe they just need broken in. I was surprised there were still no games on the rear screen, I figured they would have solved that by now. AC airflow to second row is much improved, I haven’t tested 3rd. Charge port opens, and stays open, whenever I park and I haven’t found a setting for this. I’m guessing it’s a software bug. Auto gear select seems useless so far. Overall I have no regrets.

Question for those of you who have been through the process. The reservation is under my wife's name. Does the financing need to be arranged under her name as well? She would prefer me to deal with all things financial on this one, and it's easiest to take out the loan under my own name. Not sure it matters since we're married, or if this is going to gum everything up.

I think easiest would be if they can just register the car in my name, but not sure if that's allowed by Tesla since the reservation is in her name.

I agree that the modelY seats feel more plush. The X seats may be more firm because of the ventilation which is fine and I prefer the ventilation over plushness. The X headrest is uncomfortably far forward so I removed it and adjusted it more vertically and is great now.
You are right about the FOB. It was fantastic with the auto presenting doors and easy to open/close the Falcon doors. The phone does not work well with auto presenting. Falcon wing doors: Who is going to take their phone out of pocket, open Tesla app, select car, wait until it loads, wait more, click controls, click the arrow of the door you want. The FOB was perfect and I finally found one on eBay today.

Hey. Wanted to drop by and share a new discovery I’ve found about the missing key fobs. Ordered back in May 2021, got delivery mid August for reference.

I was told they no longer included them by delivery specialist.

I decided to put in a service request saying that my car didn’t come with them and said when I placed my order back in May 2021 they should have been included. I was able to get them that way. Hope that helps with folks who really wanted them.

Tesla said it’s fine, they can register it in my name as long as her and I are both present. Credit Union is closed today, so I need to go from zero to loan tomorrow for Tuesday pickup
