Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

Looking for help/suggestions. I ordered an MXLR with 5 seats back on March 8, 2021. With th

e changes to EDD's and no deliveries of 5 seat LR's, I placed a MXP order on Jan 12 of this year, on a whim, even though the EDD for the MXP was showing as October. As you probably can anticipate, I got a VIN today on the MXP! Good news, right? Unfortunately, it's not good news. Due to an "unexpected" IRS surprise, there is absolutely no way I can take delivery of the MXP now. The Tesla SC in Kansa City is pushing for delivery this week. With the recent deliveries of 5 seat MXLR models, I have some hope that my original order placed over a year ago is going to happen sometime in Q2.

With that being the case, I have a couple of questions. Is there anyone on here that would be interested in the MXP? It's red/cream with 20" wheels, 6 seats and no FSD. I realize that there is "potential" profit if I were to buy and sell it, however, the credit application and tax payment would absolutely kill me. If there is someone interested in it, what's the process of making that happen?

I've bought three Teslas. One leased, the other two cash on delivery. Since I wanted to perform an ACH transfer from my bank to save me the trouble of getting a cashiers check, I had to pay the night before pickup, so they could see the transaction the next morning. But I had no problems with any delivery, although in my case they all were Service Center deliveries. You can vent and scream all you want. But they did tell you what to expect. It is very likely to go just fine. I wouldn't sweat it.

Actually, when I picked up my MYP in Littleton, CO service center, they let me inspect the car and then fill in the ACH information after the inspection. So I think it really depends on your pick up location.

Got my vin this afternoon!!! Hooray! This morning Edd showed July and now I got vin and my Edd changed to March 22-30!

I was able to update my LR 7 Seat reservation to a 6 seat with no impact to the base price, Order agreement was updated with the 3K price difference. I called the Princeton Service Center and they were able to help me with this change. Original EDD July 2022.

I changed from white to black today and added 22” wheels. No change to my 2/21/21 price - but still on July edd in SoCal.

I hope all these new CA vins aren’t a sign that it’s over for the east coast as far as vins go… I had Mar 18-31 so I’m sorta hoping I jump to a vin within that date range…

My only concern is, if my car is already in transit it would only further delay the whole process… there’s really no way to know if it’s in transit or not

Plaids are being delivered pretty quickly. I ordered 1/1/22. Picked 3/13/22.

Massive dose of salt in the wound. I can attest that they are not being delivered quickly. I ordered well before you and currently have a July EDD.

for folks with EDD ranges and/or VINs, is anyone considering putting your order on hold for the new "possible" headlights potentially in June/July? just curious (i know headlights have been talked about a lot, but just gauging your guys thoughts out there)

Sorry.... I would have taken the lights as they were in April 2021, July 2021, Sept 2021, October 2021, April 2022 and I'll take what's ever on the dam car next week. I just want my car!

I stopped by my service center to see if I could find my X and was delighted to see it along with 7 other Model X! I checked out the build quality and besides one quarter panel window being a little tight on the edge, it’s perfect. Now I REALLY can’t wait until tomorrow . Here’s some pics!

That’s very helpful to know. I’m curious whether you switched from a 7 to a 6 seater to try to get the car early or you genuinely wanted to make the switch to a 6 either way. I don’t blame you of course if you did the first considering no 7 seat deliveries so far.
