Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

I attended one last night on Teams. They play a PowerPoint deck and answer questions in the chat. Even the audio part of the presentation seemed to be pre-recorded. If you’ve been hanging out on TMC while waiting months and months, you probably know 95% of it. Reminder to install charging at home, how to put car into P/R/N/D, explaining concept of Superchargers, blah blah.

Only real new info was the touchless delivery procedure they use in Mt. Kisco. When you get to delivery center, car will be parked outside waiting. Use app to accept delivery, which is the only way doors will unlock. Paperwork will be sitting on a clipboard ready to be signed - once done, turn on hazard lights and they will come grab it. Finally something to get excited about.
That whole "Use app to accept delivery" is bullshit. I was allowed to inspect every centimeter of the interior before accepting delivery. If you can go and speak with the Delivery Team in person (if convenient) show them your muli-page check list and tell them before you agree to accept it needs to pass you complete inspection. You're the customer... they are not doing you a favor. Just my opinion... You Be You👍
Best of luck!

After 398 days, I picked up my Tesla Model X LR 5 seater MSM/white interior with FSD yesterday at the Chicago Grand Ave SC. It was a contactless delivery so I walked into the SC a few minutes before my 15:30 appointment and my SA told me my car was in the lot waiting for me with a piece of paper on the dash with my name on it. He said to go inspect it and if there were any questions/concerns to come back in, after which point I can hit accept delivery. Since I was like a kid before Christmas all this weekend knowing it had just arrived at the lot and was just waiting on some detailing before I accept delivery I went on Saturday to fully inspect it (which I recommend to do so that your actual delivery day there aren't any surprises, you don't feel pressured or rushed or too excited/biased to just accept delivery). So right after I saw the car and shedding a small tear (this is only my second major purchase besides my condo since I finished residency... it felt like 13 years of post-high school education and sacrifice culminated into this one purely happy moment for me) I accepted the car.

-It drives perfectly, I noticed no vibration or rattling. You can hear an electrical motor noise as you punch the accelerator in insane mode >60 mph but I love this sound it sounds very Star Wars to me
-No major panel gaps or trim issues to my semi-untrained eye
-It has the swivel screen, it came with tow package, 22" rim inserts (in a box), and mobile connector -- all in the frunk
-The seats are ventilated warm/cold
-The cameras calibrated after about 30 miles and allowed me to use autopilot and request FSD. I'm still getting used to the safety score and how it ties into my Tesla insurance rate. It started with a generic 90 score ($148 monthly premium) and yesterday after 80 miles of driving a Tesla for the first time ever (!!!) including a few insane accelerations on the expressway I achieved a 97 score easily which corresponded to a $100 premium more or less
-The active noise cancellation calibrated and said it was on but after toggling on/off a few times I didn't notice any difference whatsoever in street noise
-Steering yoke took me like 30 minutes to get used to... at first I had a lot of phantom 12:00 or 6:00 wheel grabs but after reaching for air a few times I finally got used to it. Sharp turns are easy--I just use the palm method. A lot of people on my Instagram asked me about this so I just posted a video in my story of how I make the turns, feel free to watch if interested @corydeburg
-It was 110% worth the wait! I make zero excuses for Tesla, I'm just saying for me these last 16 hours made it all worth it for me. I hope you all get yours soon!
-I'll be checking back periodically. If you have any questions or want specific pics/videos please let me know. I'll be installing the Maxpider 3D floor mats in the front and back, they are expected to be delivered by Amazon tomorrow.

It brings tears to my eyes seeing another Chicagoan receive an X - tears of joy and envy especially since I’m also an April 2021 order. Car looks incredible. I live in Chicago and currently pay $1,888 for my 2018 Model 3 LR with State Farm with full coverage. If you are paying $1,776 annually for a 2022 Tesla X, I will need to shop around for insurance.

For those who choose to finance their MX, did you go with the tesla loan or use another bank? DCU and myautoloan have a higher rate for me.
I was approved by Tesla at a rate of 2.74% this March which should be expiring if it already hasn’t. I recall reading in this thread that someone recently received 3.24% with Tesla. I received a rate of 2.74% with DCU this week and the rate drops to 1.99% if one has excellent credit, uses a DCU checking account to pay for the auto loan, and your vehicle is electric.

I got 3.24% with Tesla as well. I also heard that people receive a much better rate with DCU and I might have not done it correctly.

In March, I went through Tesla as the rate for me 2.75% was the same as DCU and I already had a relationship with Chase so setting up payments was easy.
That's good to know. I got 3.24% which is what they advertised on the tesla site. I just realized that I need to get a DCU checking account before applying for their auto loan. I will see if they can get me anything lower than 3.24%. 🤞

Yes that is correct. You need to become a member (becoming a member is very easy) and open a DCU checking account to get .5% off and an electric car gets you an additional .25% off. Their current rate is 2.74% for 65 months And with the .75% in discounts, you get 1.99%. I locked in this week because their rate is locked for 45 days and hopefully, I (we) will receive our Xs in 45 days. After 45 days, you will have to reapply and hope their rates haven’t increased.

Congratulations, it’s a beauty.

So you can’t check for interior mal functions or defects until you accept a $130K+ potential purpose?
In the event something was catastrophically wrong with the vehicle, I would refuse to sign the hard copy sales agreement. I’ll sign it AFTER I’ve poked around with seats and screens. Anything cosmetic can be dealt with as a service item later, I understand the risks and am willing to take it. Not every MX gets delivered with problems….I hope…

Today, my 05/18 - 06/08 EDD is gone and back to July. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing.. Maybe I'll get a VIN soon?
It seems like a number of folks here (myself included) had late May EDDs disappear. Hard to know what’s going on. Maybe a production delay of some kind? An error with their forecasting engine? Or just the general schizophrenia of the overall system?

Only time will tell!

My delivery was planned for this week…
SA called me in the morning and mentioned that they found some cosmetic damages which happened to the car during transit….
He said it’s going to take 2 additional weeks to fix the car…..he said it’s cosmetic but he said the delay is due to the wait time for parts….

What you guys recommend… i was very excited for pick up…. and now i’m sad 😞

Ask for details, cosmetics damage that need parts no repair, it must be a significant damage !!!!
