Riping off Model S hepa filter?

Hi
If I have understood correctly those 75D cars which don't have the bioweapon mode don't have anything in that place where the big hepa filter is situated? I can't find any reasonably priced hepa filter (Europe) and on the other hand these very wet and moist winter climate conditions need a good airflow to keep condensation off. So I was thinking to rip that old hepa filter off, putting only the frame back in its place and changing a premium cabin filter to keep the the cabin air clean? A good or a bad idea? Or does anyone know a good Hepa filter (without the frame) to buy in Europe?

I'm not aware of any 3rd party HEPA filter replacements that include the frame.

The filter itself (including the frame) is $220 from Tesla. (1059333-00-E) That's expensive by "cabin filter" standards, but for a very large filter with a frame, it's not completely unreasonable. I actually have a smaller filter in my furnace and it's $80 and needs to be replaced annually. Is the part from Tesla a lot more in Finland?

I think Tesla offered the bioweapon defense retrofit for $500.

If you’re asking whether or not you can just cut the filter out of the existing housing and replace it with nothing in there, yes, you can do that. It’s very easy.

As far as economical replacements go, this is what I use. Their site suggests they do ship internationally, but I’m not sure if the cost would be worth it.

Done this once. Superhard job.
first You cannot "cut it out", it´s glued to the frame with extra sturdy hard industrial glue, so whenever You wanna pry it out, even with specialised pry tools, Your can only do it bit by bit leaving and uneven mess. Next step is the fully air SEALED re gluing of the new filter which takes time and silicone hence sour smell the first weeks and curing time.

It´s a pity TESLA took this VERY UNSUSTAINABLE approach of thowing the whole piece away, but I would not do it again.
