I ran over a curb today. Do I pay out of pocket or do an insurance claim in your opinion? How much do you think it would cost?

You are not going to pdr a rocker panel. Metal is too thick. Body shop has to pull it and then repaint. Call your insurance company, won’t be cheap. Couple grand + Tesla tax that body shops always add on.

There’s no way to PDR that damage. That whole part will be removed, repaired and repainted.

I have a pretty similar dent, but I’ll say mines a bit more dented. However, assuming the price is the same, I asked a TABS and was quoted $1600. However, asking at other body repair shops, I was quoted from $500-$1000.

Might be worth finding a nice pair of side skirts that sit a bit higher on the rocker, could cover it up, then at least your money is going to an upgrade!

I had a ding near the door edge that I PDR myself using the glue version. It was my first time trying something like that. Appears the risk of doing further damage to the car is very low. I'm happy with the results.
