Doing the first tire rotation, pulled off the front passenger wheel and found this greasy mess.

The gob on the bottom wheel is some that I scooped up off the brake line and elsewhere on the inside, to see exactly what it was. Grease, not oil. It's also only a large spot like this on one section of the rim. Like it only leaked/plopped once there, melted/spread out a bit, and then there was bit flung all over when speed resumed.

Maybe this means it was an oppsie spill during manufacture? And/or it's been like this since I got it.

Much larger images for more detail looking in behind the hub:

Thanks for feedback. I didn’t try to pull at it but got that shot of it, with the one line of grease on the inside crease because that’s where I was thinking it could be coming from.

I’ve got an appointment to get a seatbelt replaced, I’ll have them look & confirm.

Besides the mess I don’t think i’m in immenent trouble here? I can’t get anything booked until next year anyway.

Obviously don’t want stuff getting back in there, long term.
