Eric Schmidt is poaching from Apple, SpaceX, and Google for his secretive AI military drone project

Poaching? It could refer to stealing intellectual property, conducting industrial espionage or maybe even cooking eggs. But in this case, Schmidt's company has hired people that previously worked at those companies. Wow.

“These jets will be very, very simplified for us in the sense that the infrastructure for them is already suitable [in Ukraine]. This aircraft was produced according to the Swedish strategy of dispersion. That is, it can use ordinary roads. It does not require any specialized surface, and it uses the entire range of Western weapons. In other words, everything that can be used on the F-16s can also be used on the Gripens […]
The F-16 was offered first. We are now working on the F-16, building the infrastructure for it… The Gripen is in second place for us. And all requests to Sweden have also been provided. It’s just that this process is not a priority now, but we are considering the possibility of obtaining these aircraft.”

U.S. sanctions on Azov brigade lifted. Not in the articles but the Azov brigade has been one of the best performing Ukraine military units.
Quote: A state department spokesman told the BBC a vetting process "found no evidence of gross violations of human rights" by the brigade.

Would UKR have any use for these?... First flight of these were back in October of ’74.

Argentina's President Javier Milei has approved a plan to send five Dassault Super-Étendard combat aircraft to Ukraine. This decision involves negotiating with France, the US, and NATO to bypass the British embargo preventing the use of these aircraft due to the Falklands War. The plan includes a potential swap with France, exchanging the Super Etendards for military equipment like drones or helicopters, with France handling the necessary upgrades to the aircraft.

Of course Orban is Putler's toadie so at best he'll not sabotage efforts, just give intelligence to the Russians.

Hungary to allow NATO aid to flow to Ukraine

After meetings with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg told reporters in Budapest on Wednesday that he “accepts” the position of the Central European country not to participate in NATO efforts for Ukraine.

Orban, seen as the closest of any EU leader to Russian President Vladimir Putin, has persistently obstructed the bloc’s efforts to supply Kyiv with arms and financing.

“No Hungarian personnel will take part in these activities and no Hungarian funds will be used to support them,” Stoltenberg said.

combat aircraft, Afuera!
Is the benefit of only 5 aircraft of a given type worth the supply and maintenance headache? Or does this jet share a lot of maintenance and parts with another?

G7 is meeting shortly and new sanctions are being imposed by the United States against companies that skirt existing sanctions to help the murdering fascists.

US expands sanctions against Russia

The United States widened sanctions on Russia Wednesday, targeting more than 300 new entities and people “whose products and services enable Russia to sustain its war effort and evade sanctions.”

A U.S. Treasury Department statement said the list includes dozens of China-based companies as well as entities in Russia and other countries, including Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

Seems like Ukraine should be able to do a lot with $50 billion in Russian Assets.

Western countries giving armaments from inventory, TO UKRAINE and then spending to backfill domestic country supplies is SOMEWHAT palatable for western gov’ts.. giving $$ to pay pensions, civil servants, the ARMY, other obligations, etc. while the economy in Ukraine is sh…te, THAT is where wester LEADERS have run into major pushback… so my hope is that these monies can be used to fill in the hole that Uktraine has for the moment, while the flow of weaponry continues as is.

Worst case scenario. Russia sues Ukraine and others after all this is said and done, and we spend 20 years litigating it and probably coming out that it goes toward overall future reparations.
