Because of what @dl003 wrote above about $265, and $280 is far enough away in case of a retest. But caution advised in case SP runs away. Hence he might have meant pairing with short puts, not long puts.

You'll be wrong either way, but at least an FOTM short call is a lot less stressful than a -280C.
Got it. So reading between the lines -C280 is not FOTM enough. What would be the -C and +P strikes/DTE that you’re envisioning?

I'd do something like -300C +200P 6/2024
Higher strikes were added to the 1/26 when it almost hit 300 a few months back.
Not sure the point. $1 credit.
Just sell the -300C for $13. If the SP stays flat or goes down you make $13.
Lots of ways to come out behind with the -C +P. How much does the SP have to drop beat the $13 of just the call?
It was not last year. Opened 1/3 @ 118.47 and Closed 1/6 @ 113.06

My plan of play for next week based on weakening of the SP. Heavy Bias on the Puts side at .10 delta.
I don't intend to roll - I rather focuses on reducing margin and max loss up front. Maybe tightening it further to -225P/-250C depending where we land tomorrow.
Tesla running out of steam till at least earning IMO.
Combining the ICs with the BIAS (not equal delta) based on the hive mentality is a working strategy for me so far. Keeping with it till something better come along. Guess this is where you find what working for you and keep digging into it. The only loss I have so far is bailing out too early on a winning IC's last week when stock pump due to my small balls. I can feel them getting bigger now

A 200P is paired with a -300C so every point TSLA drops the put gains in parallel with the short call. So $1?
