Tesla gave me much more for my 2019 car than I could get elsewhere, and that's without the $3500 tax difference by trading in.

I figured that's why they lowball everything. You'd think that they would at least offer on used Teslas though... $25000 less says something about their business plan.

I'd hit up all the usual suspects (you know, assuming they're present in Canada), Carmax, Vroom, Carvana, and I'm sure there's a few Canadian only type services along the same lines.

Most of these require nothing more than a VIN and a few details (mileage, condition), so it's super easy to compare offers.

I used kbb instant buy and had a local dealer accept the offer. It was about $8k more than carmax and carvana.

I bought and sold cars for a living. I'm pretty good at it. If I could have gotten more money for my car believe me I would have. Tesla overpaid, by a lot.
