Would be cool, if detected, the display turns on the camera live feed of the idiot messing with your car. May make them think twice. Surprise! You're on camera!

Seriously? (the parent part )But what exactly is it? 360 video for cars is patented and I doubt Tesla is willing to license it.
Ugh.
Hey Elon - How about that MCU1 --> MCU2 retrofit you promised, so that those of us with cars barely 1.5 years old can leverage these features?
Next thing you know, Supercharger V.3 will only be for the later model cars as well.
Probably not a popular view, but I feel like they should charge for this feature.
They are willing to raise supercharger prices. Why not get some return on the added features.

Maybe an app store? Advertising on free apps....buy apps to remove ads, etc.Probably not a popular view, but I feel like they should charge for this feature.

They already get a very nice return from those of us who purchased EAP. New features like this that are added free of charge just makes Tesla vehicles a bit more attractive to a potential buyer. Supercharger prices are an entirely different animal since the money collected from superchargers is used to maintain and expand the network.
Elon clarified Sentry mode is coming to all AP2+ cars not just ones with EAP enabled.
I think it’s less about thieves and more about hit and runsLooking forward to the release! But the concern is, it wouldn’t prevent thieves from getting the USB if they follow Tesla. It would be great if thy provide the option to upload the recordings to the cloud. May be a subscription base? $5/month?

True. If Tesla has an extra USB port in the glove compartment, that would be ideal. At any rate, any free stuff is always welcome!

Police may not but your Insurance company may find the footage interesting. So if police in many areas won't pursue "snatch and grab" thieves even with video evidence, why would they pursue someone denting a parked vehicle?
