Sentry remote - Enable "remote camera access"

You have to enable this IN THE CAR, not on the app.

Funniest thing is if you talk into the app, the external speaker broadcasts it in a Darth Vadar like voice. A+!

Yeah, took me a bit to clue in on this, when I first tried it out today (the app's message isn't exactly clear). Spent about 10 minutes sifting through various phone settings (including camera permissions). Finally decided to look through the in-car settings, finding it under Safety/Security.

How does it work, if there is a sentry event will you get notified in the Tesla app and then you can see it on your phone? Or does this feature only give you the ability to see the cameras in real time, nothing else?

In the app select security > sentry mode > view live camera

Yes I saw that feature , but is that all that does you can see a live camera feed or do you get a notification when there is a sentry event and you can watch the video on your phone as well?

As of now, the second. Hopefully they give us the option to receive notifications to the app.

Yeah IMO that defeats the point, if there is a sentry event I was hoping to see it right away on the iOS app and then use the new microphone feature to speak to the person causing the event

Help! I cannot get this to work. We've enabled it in the car and enabled all permissions for the app on the phone. Still nothing. It just showed "refresh" where the video would display. I then saw my Tesla app had an update available so I updated it. Now, there isn't even the option to view live camera. Yes, sentry is enabled.

Once I got off my home's wifi and just use LTE connects immediately.

Edit. Actually tried two iPhones and both only work when off my home wifi. iPhone 7, iPhone 11, T-Mobile and Verizon.

That would be the perfect implementation. Maybe in a future update, Elon's minions will finish it.

Turns out the issue is with my phone. My phone only shows remote cameras when it’s on WiFi. I’ll have check my iPhone settings or try reloading the app at some point. First world problems,

Check whether you have cellular data enabled for the Tesla app. (I assume you do, but that would be an easy fix)
