Service appointment lead times sane again?

Is it regional, or time of year, or...what?

Multiple service centers in the NYC area are showing appointments available within the next week. A welcome change from just a few months ago.

Seems highly dependent on the individual service center. Mine (Monterey/Seaside CA) recently offered me an appointment within a week for a minor issue. Turned out not needing it because a firmware update fixed it, but still.

Although they’ve always been able to get me in pretty quickly.
