Service appt. How do I know if they will provied a loaner?

Title says it. Bringing it in tomorrow for a_036 alert and need to know if I'll need a ride home. Any way to know?

On my last service appointment (two weeks ago), they sent me a message the day before stating they would need the car for more than a day, so they were providing me with a loaner. In the past, I didn't find out until I was dropping it off, which was too late since I already arranged for a pickup.

You could try sending them a message via the app and ask if a loaner will be available.

You should ask or request one. Generally, I believe they will give you one (if available) if they have your car for than 2-3 days.

You don't. From my experiences, you'll get Uber dollars.

Perhaps this is area dependent, but where I am, they will only give you a loaner if you either have some catastrophic issue that is warranty covered, or your car will be in service for 3+ days. Other than that you get offered uber credits. (At least for model 3 and Y owners, no idea if its different for S and X).

Loaner rule at my local service center (Bay Area, CA): repair must be more than 4 hours and vehicle in warranty!
