Lowering the expectations for Model 3 in terms of having 'new' technology, meaning features not in Model S or X.
Making it clear that MS and MX will always host any new technology as a higher priced vehicle, in order to allow economies of scale in order for it to arrive in the Model 3.

Annualised rate of 80k-100k by the end of this year doesn't chime with 50k in 2H.
Depends on the overhang of work in progress in Q2, as well as Q2 production itself. I suspect there are a lot of vehicles in final rework that have already passed the critical bottlenecks in BiW and general assembly.

I'm sure VW has a software fix for that.

Depends what exactly these factories will do. If we twist the definition enough, Walmart will be the largest battery supplier.
It almost sounds like Elon has some sort of incredible manufacturing breakthrough for the Model 3 with this bit. Machine that makes the machine, making a production floor 10x as dense, using more of the volume of a building, making things faster... ultimate autonomous manufacturing line, perhaps?
Not sure if he's talking about factory improvements as something that has been designed, is in the middle of being designed, or is just something he's thinking about for the future.

I have enjoyed it so far, after slowing my expectations down to Elon's delivery speed.
But... I actually assumed it would be over by now and have other plans to get ready for!!! Talk about a gigantic presentation.
