Has anyone found what to do or what to put in front of the radar on a MS nose version 1 so that the snow accumulation does not prevent the cruise control and / or semi-autonomous driving from working well?
I have a 2015 MS85D
Tesla recommends you apply Rustoleum Never Wet (Step 2 Only!) to the front radar area. I have applied Step 2. It looks like it messes up the bumper, but, relax, it comes off easily. Don't use the can of Step 1 on your car.
Yep snow accumulating on the front, time to hand over control to AP1 - not my choice.
Even with relatively light snow covering you may well find AP1 following the black lines (tire tracks in the snow) left by other cars thinking they are the lane edges - and we all know how good people are at remembering where the lanes were before the snow started. And yes I have AP1 and yes it has absolutely done this when I tested in an empty 3 lane road in light snow in CO.
Had a wet snow today in the Mid-Atlantic, and it happened to me. Roads were just wet, but it was snowing at a pretty good clip. Had to pull over to clear the front a couple times. Rare situation, but good to know there's a product to try.
