Software update notification/status on Tesla app

Hey guys. I've noticed on my Tesla app even when the car is off the software update status is always there and running. I've turned off WiFi and I've confirmed this update has been completed. I've also set updates to standard and not advanced. Is there any way to make sure this update is turned off and not constantly looking like it is updating? Is this normal?

You can try rebooting the car.

Or killing and restarting the app?

I tried closing app completely and it's still there. Will rebooting car erase any data though? How are you doing this?

Hold down both scroll wheels on the steering wheel until the T appears on the screen.

No data is lost.

Update won't install itself, just show you it's available. If you don't want it then just ignore.
