Thanks for the illustrated instructions. I put an upside down Sterilite 1693 storage crate under the tire for support, dimensions 17¼"L x 14¼"W x 10 5/8"H. The Tesla pack with 120v charging cable, which I have never used, fits into the back corner space next to the tire.

Brilliant. Can't believe I cut up my previous MY instead of figuring this out. Any louder back there without the insulation?

I just did it this evening, here's some pics. Haven't driven it yet.

I have the wheel facing down.




i had a few pieces of left over 2x4, used an old tshirt to pad both ends.

seems to be the same as before. but with 13 speakers + a subwoofer, can't objectively determine any difference.

Implemented this hack this afternoon. Pushing back the foam was harder than anticipated. Looks good though. Hope there’s no additional noise generated from not having the sub-trunk tub.

If it turn out there is, you could check about adding something like Dynamat to the exposed metal well.

Not sure it would actually help though, YMMV...
