I think the pillar speakers are tweeters only, and will only reproduce the very highest frequency sounds. The high frequencies are absorbed much more than mid range and low frequencies by upholstery, clothes, and human bodies, and so the tweeters are frequently placed in the car pillars to have a more direct line to the listeners's ears. You should hear thinks like the "s" of a snare drum sound, or the sound of drum sticks clicking together from the tweeters. Of course this all assumes you have the premium audio with 14 speakers. Some models did not include premium audio, so some speakers may be missing or not active.
