Just when all hope had nearly faded I got my VIN in the source code. Now just waiting on that wonderful delivery ready text. Can't wait!

Ordering in Ontario, Canada to Oakville
Order Date: January 29th, 2020
was told 3-5 weeks when I ordered, got the same push texts the last few Thursdays
I'm hoping for another today later.
SA yesterday messaged me that a "soft VIN" has been assigned to me and that I could get my car quicker if I opted to do black exterior, I said no thanks I can wait. SA couldn't provide me the soft VIN as they weren't allowed to provide soft VINs.
Called the delivery center and they said no VIN assigned and probably end of March delivery.
Odd that different employees have different levels of access?
Car got wrecked in January and ordered the 3 right away, hopefully it's not too much longer but I won't hold my breath
Excited to see that they're into January orders at least now!

FSD must be coming first, we opted out of that but same location and black ext. Hope you get it sooner than later!
Ordered sr+, 19 in, black int, no FSD on Jan 19 with an initial delivery time of 8 - 10 weeks
1st text Jan 23: Delivery update 3 - 8 weeks
2nd text Feb 6: Delivery update 2 -5 weeks
3rd text Feb 13: Model 3 to be built in two weeks
Today vin in source.
Im guessing if you received the built in two weeks text, you should see your vin in source very soon.

Yup, they would have charged the difference, I didn't even ask for a timeline on the black exterior as the soft VIN sounds like it's in transit, they said VIN will be assigned when it gets off the train so they can check for possible damage and delivery should be pretty quick after that.
This post gives me so much hope that mine is only a few weeks away =D

i will s*** myself on purpose if you get your car before me. some of us ordered in f****** 2019.

I'm still trying to figure out why I haven't received a text other than "Welcome to Tesla!" the day after I ordered. In my account prefs, I have phone, email, text all checked along with all times of day. GRRR

I'm in the same boat, buddy. Ordered at 2/4 and did everything. That one text is all I've gotten so far.
I also have only received the one text and I ordered January 17, 2020. I thought my kids taught me patience...now I know Tesla does.
That is poor customer service. I would be going mad. Sorry you are going through this.
