Sunblock on Leather Seats

Hi,

My vegan leather seats are covered in sunblock stains which have been there for years.

What’s the safest way to get rid of them? I tried baby wipes but it won’t come out.

I have rubbing alcohol by my son says not to use it as it will ruin the seats.

Any advice?

I’ve used this on leather and now my Tesla fake leather seats and it’s worked perfectly. Even removing the oily sunblock and after sun residue this summer.

Sun cream on arm rest …. Argh!!

With the gorgeous weather today, my arms had sun cream applied, and after a drive I realised I’d been resting my arm in the arm rest and there’s a cloudy white stain it! ******* typical! in a panic I tried rubbing it off with tissue but it’s just left a cloudy blotch… any tips on how to remove? :(

Seat Cleaning products

Basically as the title, I need something to remove the black jean marks from my white seats. can anyone recommend some products to brighten it up.

Try looking on Ultrafabrics (believed to be the manufacturer of the fabric) for their cleaning advice. There use to be a big section on what to use abd more importantly what not to use. Unfortunately some products listed have US names.

Is there a reason you've waited years to sort this out? Leaving it in situ for so long, in the sun, etc surely can't be good for your prospects of removing it.

Tend to agree with Duzel....if you'd tackled this straight away, I'm pretty sure removal would have been largely possible.

Yes, the only hope is that because it's a plastic material it won't have soaked into fibres but nevertheless the action of time and UV may have set the stain permanently. It's not been specifically stated if the seats are white or black. Hard to believe that you could choose a white finish then not be removing stains at the time of occurrence.

As others have said, anything now is a long shot. But Tesla recommended autosmart brisk dry foam upholstery cleaner for our marked seats. Worked well but no idea if it will work on something that has been there so long.

Baby wipes don’t have enough detergent in them to get rid of the oils. Try any decent all purpose cleaner from Halfords, or a wipe with more detergent content. Here’s an all purpose cleaner (others are available) Autoglym All-Purpose Cleaner 1L | Halfords UK

I use this STUFF. Spray on to a microfibre cloth and work in to the seats.

You could try the rubbing alcohol on a discreet area and see if it does ruin the material?

Don’t use alcohol if you can help it.

The seats are poly urethane, otherwise known as plastic. Just use a mild detergent on a soft cloth, pretty much any household cleaner would be fine be it a £1 bottle of household multipurpose cleaner or some overpriced £5+ multipurpose cleaner in a tiny bottle marketed at car cleaning.
