Yermo by far is the better option. I wish Tesla would expand that one, last time I stopped there the bathrooms were pristine, the food options are great, the candy selection was fantastic.Unless Barstow put up some clean restrooms and air conditioning waiting area, Yermo will continue to be my stop.

You'd be surprised, when I charge at night these hotels are pretty packed up. I'll knock on some doors and find out next time.I guess the L2 would be useful for those Hotel guests. But who stays at Barstow anyhow.
Hard to beat those automatic rest room door handle cleaners that were there before COVID. (Genius !!!)Unless Barstow put up some clean restrooms and air conditioning waiting area, Yermo will continue to be my stop.
Through travelers trying to avoid LA metro.I guess the L2 would be useful for those Hotel guests. But who stays at Barstow anyhow.
It is adjacent to an outlet mall, so…Wow! It feels like they were pushing dirt around 6-8 weeks ago and according to the pics above, we appear to be all but done! They even have decorative concreted/landscaping in place. By the end of June (Q2) is a 99.9% certainty, I'd say. Maybe even any day now by the looks of this progress!
Anyone have any idea as to what the use case would be for ~30 @ L2 chargers in a location like this?
I just don't see it. . . Superchargers are one thing. You're full in less than an hour, and simply move your car. But with the L2? I guess you can charge to full for 6-8 hours and then awkwardly move your car at that point in time? Maybe they expect cars to sit there overnight as a general rule? However, most folks check into a hotel at ~4PM and are in for the night, right? But now the car sits there for 16+ hours plugged in when it only needs to be there for 6-8 hours? 2-3 hours of L2 charging while you "shop" and you only get ~75 miles, so the "shopping" argument kinda falls flat. . . I don't get it! Maybe we have a situation where the adjacent hotel adds a handful of L2s just for overnight guests? But this is clearly not what we're looking at. There's going to be ~30 of them! In the middle of the Desert?
I'm sure I'm missing something. . . What do you guys think?
For destination chargers you can throttle down charge rate. Better for battery, personalizable for how long you plan to stay then checkout. It is adjacent to an outlet mall, so…
Anybody knows what food/beverage options are there, Starbucks at least? I checked the outlets’ website but it doesn’t say.
Food court looks to be quite a walk.
