I hit up that SC site as well on my travels. Got some coffee and some hot water to eat some ramen I had in the trunk! LolCovered chargers are pretty common, but still not ubiquitous.
That trick is more effective with V2 Superchargers. Version 3 are liquid cooled.Try old school wet rag around charge handle trick.
There are 29 free 48 amp destination chargers and there are 20 V3 superchargers. There is also infrastructure in the ground already to add 27 (48?) more chargers. Total 68.
There is already one pull through, and they will have two legal and a third outside lines. (Those 2 pull through can serve as 4 regular spots)
The mall promises a free gift, too.
Hotels are Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn.
They seem to rarely rework old infrastructure and focused on maximizing growing new infra. So there’s that.I have to wonder if those destination chargers will be reworked into a paid service once Tesla gets the billing software worked out. They've been saying that was coming for years now.
Update on what? I was there again last week to charge. It's been up and running for months.any update?
Is this connector cleaning process safe to do on the receiver? ThanksVisited this site during the week of Thanksgiving. The build-out of the site to its full capacity is well under way! Workers have already installed 13 additional V3 cabinets, and were getting ready to pull copper.

There are already 20 existing Supercharger stalls, and 13 more SC cabinets would increase that number by another 52 stalls! However, as I mentioned in my previous post (June 26), I only see 50 unused pedestals on the site. Perhaps I missed two pedestals? In any event, work continues to make this Supercharger a minimum of 70 stalls!
I also took a moment to check-out the destination chargers on the west edge of the parking lot. All 29 of them appear to be in good working order, and the five or so connectors I examined were not quite as dirty-looking as the ones I discussed in my June post. However, before testing two of the chargers, I gently cleaned both connectors with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip before using them. I have a used, pocket-sized hand sanitizer bottle that I’ve refilled with rubbing alcohol, and I keep it (and several Q-tips) in a zip-lock baggie in my center console. To clean a connector, I put a few drops of alcohol on a Q-tip, and carefully spin it around the outer edge of the two main connector pins, and repeat for the fiber optic connector. In the first photo below you can see the grime that was removed from the main connector pin closest to the camera.

Cleaning a connector in this manner is completely safe, since the connector is never energized unless a vehicle is actively charging.
I tested two of the destination chargers; both provided 48 amps of current (maximum for my vehicle).
Lastly, this was one of the Supercharger locations that was free to charge after 8 PM (and before 9 AM) during the Thanksgiving holiday. Predictably, the site filled up on the night I was there during freebie hours. Lots of cars were coming and going!

are all the 60 V3 stalls up and running?Update on what? I was there again last week to charge. It's been up and running for months.
Oh. I didn't count but it certainly didn't seem like 60. I'd say it was about 20. There are a couple dozen Level 2 Tesla wall connectors there as well though.are all the 60 V3 stalls up and running?
I guess they haven't finished the job yetOh. I didn't count but it certainly didn't seem like 60. I'd say it was about 20. There are a couple dozen Level 2 Tesla wall connectors there as well though.
I assume they close it during the week to work on the other stalls and open it on the weekend with whatever is working. As of 2/28/2023. The site is closed and fenced off. Anyone have any idea what the plans are for this location?
