Supercharger - El Portal, CA (LIVE 2 Nov 2022, 8 V3 stalls)

Was in Yosemite for the long weekend. No visible construction anywhere to be found in El Portal (checked both on the way in and out). On the plus side, we stayed at the Yosemite Valley Lodge, and the 8 public EVSEs worked out great. Even though the lodge was fully booked this weekend, it wasn't too hard to secure a charging spot overnight.

Of note, all the EVSEs in Yosemite has been replaced with Rivian branded ones. Still 100% free, no codes/cards/membership/etc required. The Lodge still has 8 EVSEs, and the Village Store still has 1 EVSE. Both are 32A / 208V. The Ahwahnee has two EVSEs, now both 40A / 208V. Presumably, the previous Tesla HPWC was on a 100A (80A usable) circuit, that is now shared between the two; and the 20A(16A) circuit was capped off.

Though I am still hopefully to see a SC in El Portal, if one's staying at the Yosemite Valley Lodge, it is now far easy to get topped off overnight.

Posting to keep an eye on this thread...

I was searching the Tesla Supercharger map a few minutes ago since I read about an expansion of the network due to Tesla's announcement of allowing other EVs to use it. While scrolling around the map I saw the planned installation in El Portal. Yosemite View Lodge is our regular place to stay at Yosemite and is on our usual route (140) into the Valley. Our last trip there in my 3 was via Groveland/120 in Sept. 2019. I had asked the staff if there was any way to charge my car overnight and they offered a 120V outlet in the parking lot but as it turned out I didn't need it (used the destination charger in the park).

While the drive was nice and lunch in Groveland great, I much prefer driving 140. The lodge has nice rooms, especially if you get one next to the river. The only drawback is no/weak cell (AT&T) coverage there.

Ref: Yosemite trip, stay near Groveland Supercharger or at a Destination Charger location?
Any new updates to this location? Planning on a trip in JUN.

Tesla page now says Q3 2022. (That's even sooner than Mariposa, which says Q4 2022, and the Mariposa construction seems well along.)
It can happen pretty quick. Turlock went from first shovel in the ground in mid June to likely operational this coming week. That's about 2 months. No reason why it couldn't happen pretty quick if Tesla has all their ducks in a row.

Actually, Maricopa is a small unincorporated community in SW Kern County on highways 33 and 166. It is just south of Taft.

There is no Maricopa County in California. Never was.
You’re right. Thats what I’ve meant. Driven Through many times on 166 on the way to the coast. When I searched for “mariposa county permit search” one of the results was the Maricopa permit dept. Brain fart late at night. Apologize for any confusion.

Stopped by the Yosemite View Lodge site in El Portal on Sat Sep 3. Digging has begun! Site is in what I would guess is the north east part of the property in the parking lot right near hwy 140. At this point it appears progress is a bit behind Mariposa
