Supercharger - Gypsum, CO - Public and Service Center Supercharger locations

These pics were shared on the Denver Tesla Club Facebook page. Apparently there is a 4 stall Supercharger by the small airport in Gypsum, CO and another 4 stalls at the upcoming service center very close by. None working yet.

These at the mall are here: Google maps link. Strange install, Tesla usually avoids 4 stall V3 SCs due to the 375kw power limit per cabinet (and these usually have 1 cabinet). Maybe there were power limits at this site? And no permits were ever discovered before construction.

And these are at the Service Center at 550 Plane St, Gypsum, CO 81637:

My Littleton Delivery Specialist mentioned a Gypsum Service Center when I picked up my X in early January.
I thought maybe he didn't know what he was talking about as it seemed to a (far) Western Slope denizen a quirky location choice.

HURRAH! just the same.

Eagle County Regional is a great little airport that provides access from many large cities. I think a lot of people use it to access ski towns out west like Beaver, Aspen, Breck, etc. both in the summer and winter. This charger would be a good location for those picking up or dropping off, along with people who leave their car at the airport while out of town. Provides a partial recharge before leaving, or a good charge after returning and having lost some juice sitting in the lot. Hope they keep it plowed in the winter!

These might be dedicated Superchargers for Hertz rental cars. That would explain the extra tiny station (4 stalls) and the location (airport).

I wonder what happens if other people plug into them? I wouldn't use it if it's busy, but I'll be curious to try in a few months. I assume it won't show up the nav. More stops on the way to Grand Junction makes it easier to optimize charging curves and hit that juicy single-digits percent battery SC arrival.

Stopped by the forthcoming Gypsum Service Center today and Eagle Vail Airport.

The Service Center looks like it could open today. Signage is up, parking lot is perfectly painted with all spots numbered, and the hours are listed in all the doors. It will be a sales, service, and delivery center. There are also fences up to close off the back of the service center where the Superchargers are located. Today, a Sunday, I could drive into the main parking lot, but could not even see the Superchargers, let alone access them. It seems the Superchargers will be for internal Tesla use only.

Regarding the airport, the Superchargers are still cable locked. But they are not in the rental car section. They are in a small, permit parking only lot (no permit needed for EV charging). Notably, they are immediately adjacent to the state funded ChargePoint fast chargers. This suggests to me that the Superchargers might be publicly accessible … someday.

Strange.

I wonder who paid Tesla to build these? Superchargers aren't cheap, Tesla wouldn't build a private Supercharger if wasn't supporting their business. Still seems like rental car usage is the most likely.

Is this a first of a kind? I'm not aware of any other Superchargers that are private, including other Hertz locations (I'm excluding Tesla's own service center Superchargers that are closed to the public, generally).

I don't know if it is open yet, but Hertz by DIA will have its own private Supercharger location. Also, I've heard of Superchargers in Canada and the Netherlands which were only available to private taxi fleets.

I get Tesla's logic on the Gypsum location, but I wish they would have chosen Grand Junction, or maybe Glenwood Springs. Perhaps it would be a bit easier to staff as well as a catalyst for EV adoption over here in the sticks of the Western Slope. I would echo @JamesEarl15 on the part time gig sentiments.
