I still have 15,000 free miles left that expire mid next year. This will be the closet charger to me, when complete, by far. Also I pass this area every week or two.
So yeah kind of big deal for me; at least until my free miles expire.

Yes, there's still a huge gap of superchargers around this area. Even though I live in LB, the closest to me is still Torrance.
Closest to me previously was Westminster and then Cerritos. But both are still quite a while of time.
It's interesting to see how they are closing the circle though. I remember looking at this same map 1 and 2 years ago when the same circle was present just larger.

Lol I'm at Torrance now. Had to drive to warner Ave fountain valley charger the other early morning to top off. Barely made it with 2% left.

You didn’t have to count. The photos above and the Tesla app said 19 of 20 free when others were there charging alone.

It's not. But updating the database at the Tesla mothership is part of the commissioning process for the Tesla tech that goes out to get the site activated. So, assuming everything went to plan, it doesn't take long for that to trickle down to the cars' navigation system display. There is some lag though, and sometimes the updating process doesn't work correctly and there can be a slightly more significant delay.
That too, esp when my free miles expire. I’m a night person. Even on the rare occasion I charge at home I don’t start till 10PM and finish / stop by 8 AM, even on weekend.
Interesting it shows in the app but not in the car. You would think that both of those would pull from the same place, esp as they both pull live availability.
I try to charge before noon to max green juice.

They do, but the car doesn't pull DB updates as frequently and it's vehicle specific as each car has to pull the update for itself, so some cars may show it already while others won't yet.
