This one shows that the below-ground work has been completed for a few of the Superchargers and the dirt has been filled back in: (west end)
Here you can see some of the framing for more concrete, etc. Notice that one Supercharger base is offset from the rest, possibly due to the area behind it which may be for some of the planned power equipment (center):
This last one shows more underground work being completed and framing for other Supercharger spots (east end):
Exactly right. What's in the first photo used to look like what's in the third photo. I think they're now working west to east down the line of the Supercharger positions.
Behold from today! Nearly all of the parts for the Supercharger installations that had been staged behind Vons have been used now. (And behind Vons are two Tesla Supercharger trailers, but this seems to be just storage these days.)
Yeah, I'd say it could be as much as three more months. Maybe things have gotten more streamlined on both the Tesla and utility sides, to speed things up. But, I'm not holding my breath!
The installation crew will soon be done with the work involving dirt. Some of the Superchargers now have asphalt around their base covering the dirt that back-filled the trenching. Others are still in progress. No sign of the power supply equipment yet.
I will be heading to that area next Saturday but doesn't look like this will be an option while there. Maybe by next year so still glad to see more going in.
Qualcomm chargers just a few minutes away and the Mira Mesa ones (V3) are about 10 minutes away… no reason to change plans based on the status of these chargers

We've been coming to the area annually for many years until Covid caused a delay for a couple of years. After getting our Model 3 in 2018, we found Qualcomm always too busy so would go to the Urban chargers in Carlsbad or the V2 SC in Black Rock Mountain. But our most recent visit was 11/21 and used the Mira Mesa V3, and Carlsbad V3 SCs when needed and was never a line. Just figured this one would provide an even closer option without Qualcomm since that one still doesn't appeal to me.
