I am been eyeing these wheels because they have twice the treadwear of the pilots.

REAR:

Load bearing is good, W and Y for speed is good.

These wheels too, but the speed is only V, but techinically I do not plan to go over 149mph on All seaons anyways.

Thanks, I already ordered the Michelin but maybe somebody else who is considering a set can take a look at more options. In regards to treadwear (and I practically know nothing about this), tirerack lists Michelin's at 540, which is higher the the continentals in the 400s - I know that is subjective to each company, but doesnt look like they wear faster, quite the opposite. what am I missing?

Whoops i mixed pilot sport 4 suv, which was 220 yeah the ones you got are about the same thread wear.

So i would go with the ones you got or MAYBE the V rated scorpions. Ofcourse if yours fit xD

One has more life, one has more speed rating ultimately. The pilots are noisier, the Scorpions I do not think have enough reviews to know.

haha, I cant wait to find out either. I believe from all the angles I have looked and poked at it, it should have a .25" clearance left on the front.

On Reddit, i talked to this guy who said these fit 245/60R18 Conti AT fit without rubbing.
https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModelY/comments/jxftre/mpp_lift_24560r18_conti_at_on_matte_bronze_tsw/

265/40/r21 is 0.3" less diameter then the 245/60/r18 so it has to fit. And since only the front has the knuckle issue since the wheels turns, the rear wont have any issues being 285s or 295s 40/R21

Thanks, that gives me some hope. I dont want to get excited, simply because the rim is 9" (.25" clearance add by moving away from the knuckle by that amount 9.5"-9.0" = .5" /2) and the fact that he is using 32mm offset vs ubers at 40mm, give another 8mm (1/3rd") of clearance... but I am very very hopeful and have fingers crossed. :)

Ok, lets establish a baseline:

Charged up the car last night, but a bunch of dots on the power bar/regen so obviously cold and will try to replicate this with new tires:

SOC: 253miles
Weather: 41F, partly cloudy
Driver: Fasted state, skipped breakfast, large cup of coffee in the car
Car: Heat off, windows up, various types of music at half volume
Tires: Stock tires F 255/31/21 (40psi, heated up to 44 post trip), R 275/35/21 (40psi, heated up to 44 post trip)
Front clearance: 6"
Rear clearance: 5"
Trip Leg A: 8.2 miles (mostly on AP/FSD 50-55mph) - 264 wh/mi (terrain was nearly flat with small up/downs)
Trip Leg B: 7.9 miles (mostly on AP/FSD 50-55mph) - 251 wh/mi (terrain was nearly flat with small up/downs)

How many miles on the PZero's?

I'd give the new tires at least 500 mi to break in before repeating the test. IIRC, new tires have slightly degraded efficiency.

50 miles on the PZeros.... so the new tires will also suffer from the same bias... the margin difference in bias we can probably discard, as the delta (I am assuming here) wont be consequential.

Ok, we have some data. All the estimates proved to be accurate and the tires fit with plenty of room to spare. See pics. The speedometer is off by ~4.6% (fully expected) so will need to adjust for it on the WH/Mi

I may do another test in a few weeks to get a better idea of what is happening but the short story is, we have little to no efficiency drops:

SOC: 253miles - Same as initial test
Weather: 35F, partly cloudy - colder than last time by 5-6 degrees
Driver: Fasted state, skipped breakfast, large cup of coffee in the car - same as prior
Car: Heat off, windows up, various types of music at half volume
Tires: New tires 265/40/21 and 285/40/21 were inflated to 40psi (personally I think these are the tires the car should have come with. plenty of rim protection and the stance looks more aggressive and slightly taller by about an inch.
Front clearance: went from 6" to almost 7"
Rear clearance: 5" to about 6" (sam as above, slight increase predicted by the taller diameter of the tire (~0.75")

PREVIOUS Trip Leg A: 8.2 miles (mostly on AP/FSD 50-55mph) - 264 wh/mi (terrain was nearly flat with small up/downs)

NEW TRIP: same trip details as above with efficiency of 272 wh/mi, but adjusting for Speedometer should be 272 / (1+.046) = 260 wh/mi

Trip Leg B: 7.9 miles (mostly on AP/FSD 50-55mph) - 251 wh/mi (terrain was nearly flat with small up/downs)

NEW TRIP: same trip details as above with efficiency of 263wh/mi, but adjusting for Speedometer should be 263 / (1+.046) = 251 wh/mi

So all in all, the car feels a little bit taller... a little softer on the bumps and overall looks a ton better. obviously longer term efficiency needs to be monitored but the initial feedback is very good.

Omg looks so much better without wheel gap. This is so money and i thank you for being the probably only documented occurrence of this tire size on our P’s. I am placing my order today, in between both sets. Can you please comment on road noise / drone from the pilots?? I feel like i just should get was is true to work.

I am going to have to say they are perfectly fine. Here is the disclaimer. I had the model 3 previously, which was not quiet. I live in NYC, which is not quiet and I have never paid any attention. So would love to give you a fully educated answer but to me it doesn't matter, nor do I care. I am sorry, I wish I was more helpful in this category.
