Has anyone been able to get the NEW Taptes M3 USB hub to fit into the center console? This is the new USB Hub that has a USB C and USB A port for cars manufactured after June 2020:

TAPTES Tesla Model 3 & Model Y USB Hub

I just received mine yesterday, and I tried in install it, but the fit was so tight, that it actually removed pieces of the interior lining. After forcing it into position, I was not able to line up the USB ports and finally just gave up. Taptes sells this same product for Model Y and claims that it is compatible with Model 3, but I am having doubts.

Has anyone been able to successfully get this to fit or am I a complete idiot?o_O

I had ordered the same one and installed last week after much frustration. The fit was so tight it removed some of the flocking on the interior same as you described. Because the hub was so snug I didn't think I could ever align it without actually seeing where the plug was. I ended up using my S9+ in video mode to have both camera and flashlight on. Had to take the case off the phone in order to fit it close enough to see between the hub and wall. Once I had a visual on the plugs and sockets using camera I was able to slightly adjust and push the Hub completely in.

Glad to know I’m not alone. I gave it a second chance yesterday and finally got it to fit seemingly by pure luck. Anyway, it’s in and thankfully it never has to come out. Cheers!
