Tesla is not currently offering the POS credit. (And a lot of dealers report that the IRS system doesn't actually work, so they can't either.)
At least they're trying (commission depends on it!)

Is it possible to apply the credit for the car delivered in 2014 to 2013?Assuming you have sufficient tax liability, you can adjust withholdings (W-2) or your estimated quarterlies (1099) to recoup the credit before April 15 2025.
Assuming we perfect time travel, then... maybe. Is it possible to apply the credit for the car delivered in 2014 to 2013?
Nope, year put in service only.Is it possible to apply the credit for the car delivered in 2014 to 2013?
Yep (or adjust withholding and get it sooner).I am also confused - if Tesla can't do a 2024, $7500 point of sale, do you just do the form like a 2023? So you'd file spring 2025, and get $7500 back, same as before?
Now it's unsurprising why the car comes with a substantial discount. The discounts I received are fantastic, and I'm thrilled with them.
I secured a USD$ 5,750 adjustment, a $1,000 credit for reserving a CyberTruck, and a $500 NY Drive Clean rebate.
Essentially, this almost entirely offsets the cost of all the additional features on the car, including its red color, hitch, seven seats, white interior, and 20" wheels.
I chose a vehicle that was in transit on December 30, but unsurprisingly, it didn't arrive before the year's end.
Consequently, I missed out on the offer of six months of free supercharging.
However, I wonder, what's the value of that offer? Around $500?
Didn’t think to do that.I cannot see it either. I literally took a screenshot of that page in the app 2.5 hours ago.
Hooray for paint imperfections…Now it's unsurprising why the car comes with a substantial discount.
I received a call from the delivery center, informing me that my car has paint imperfections that require repairs at a body shop.
As a result, my delivery date has been postponed.
This delay might work in my favor because by then, Tesla will have clarified their approach to POS rebates.
It can be anything, I will never know.Hooray for paint imperfections…

The only question that remains whether POS will be ready this week or how long they'll let me keep this order. Or should I p/u this order today and claim credit later.
I prefer the former and allows me not to deal with the rush either..
Yes that was what they told me on 1/1. Said we got the loyalty bonus since this is our second Tesla, but as of 1/1 Tesla has no referral bonuses. Bummer, I wanted the 6 months of charging and 3 months of FSD, or something.I was told by the rep at tesla they aren't doing the referral bonus any more. is that wrong?
Then wait until the end of the quarter when Tesla runs incentives. Never buy a Tesla at the beginning of a quarter.Bummer, I wanted the 6 months of charging and 3 months of FSD, or something.

I agree, I wanted those incentives, but the reductions are worth more right now. We don’t know prices at the end of the quarter.Except the inventory incentives are still good... for now+POS soon I hope? FSD+SC trials are not worth that much (to me)
If Tesla can't enter the information into the IRS system, the buyer cannot claim the credit, not even the end of year version (given the strictest interpretation of IRS guidance). And, of course, buyers would rather get time of sale credit which absolutely needs the portal.Just got a call from Tesla. They said their sales department is holding off on any deliveries on existing inventory with the tax credit given the IRS website issues. Expected to be up this month. Interesting the test holding off on deliveries though.

Interesting, so this must be a Tesla issue, because, on other forums, people had no issues claiming the credit on their lightningJust got a call from Tesla.
