While I share a general disdain for gimmicky "beauty covers", I have not seen any evidence that braking performance was compromised in any way.

Previous Brembo rear caliper was a cast cover over a floating slider brake. Revision is a floating slider caliper with a plastic cover. It's literally the same thing, one just brings a cost savings.

In all honesty while I generally dislike gimmicks I like the appearance, so while Tesla is cheaping-out on me at least they are whispering sweet-nothings into my ear while doing it lol.

It's not structural and rear brakes don't get anywhere as hot as the fronts.
