Tesla releases New Yoke

when do you get update did you get exactly the same as version as before? I wonder for fsd builds especially.

Update within they hour it was new update
FSD 12.3.3
firmware 2024.3.10

It wasn’t peeling. Just that left turn button would not function intermittently. I opened the service ticket. The mobile service guy showed up with new yoke but said he can’t replace since the turn buttons were working just fine (he tried few times). I told him it malfunctions all of sudden while driving and it could be dangerous sometimes. He called the service center and spoke with them for few minutes and then agreed to replace it. Took about 20 minutes or so.

Any issues with the left turn signal on the new yoke?

Wow, the new yoke is the way it’s supposed to be.

Feels like a sports car wheel now, much thicker and softer. Really changes the feel and drive experience.

I had a nice Escalade V and this feels really close to that.

Sucks that Tesla gave us cheap crap before they realized it wouldn’t work.

nope, have not encountered any issue with touch buttons after yoke was replaced.

But an OTA is not going to take care of that. New software will still see your car on the older map/configuration. At least in my view...

OTA firmware update took care if it, all working now..

Tesla Mobile Service did it. 3 days from creating the service request. I said easy because of how quick was turnaround and also the swap was quick. Takes 10-15 min.

As a reminder, if your replacement, new yokes have stiff/hard-to-press turn signals, get another replacement. That's what I had to do. The new, new one has been great.

Pretty sure it's still polyurethane, but instead of gluing on a very thin layer, they made sheets similar in thickness to leather and stitched that on.

That makes sense. It definitely seems not as porous and grainy as the last iteration. I’m sure they’ll be using that formula going forward on a lot of the interiors.

Has that been proven? I mean there’s no question it feels different and the stitching is different, but I don’t know in terms of makeup how different it is.

looks promising, although my yoke isnt peeling yet. what are the chances of tesla replacing it with the new one anyway? is there a tsb for it? are the original yokes vegan leather?

It’s worth it. Feels more like a sports car now. Much thicker and higher quality, plus the horn

sadly i still wont have the horn on center feature. i have a 2021. but yes cant wait for a nicer feeling yoke. its our main connection to the car

You'll have the horn on center feature when they do the replacement.
