Tesla shows prototype of metal charging cable snake

Perfect for 2 things.

1) Self Driving Cars
2) Automatically "ejecting" the charging cable once the vehicle is fully charged.
3) Notifying an owner that their vehicle is fully charged, and reminding them to either "summon it" or pick it up. Also, Tesla could impose a fee for people who forget or choose to park their Tesla for more than 1-2 hours.

Heck I want one just because it's incredibly cool! I really need a bigger garage.

If they can make this possible in the future for home charging, that takes another FUD argument off the table. Not only can you "fill up" at night instead of going to a gas station to pump gas, you don't even have to worry about forgetting to plug in the car anymore. Basically making us even lazier, hahaha, but a great feature for sure.

Wow that is awesome! I remember watching the D launch last October and Elon talking about a "snake" cable that would plug itself in without assistance, he said "some of my engineers are hearing this in realtime" and then chuckling.
