Tesla Stores

I totally agree with this. Tesla needs to add more service centers if they plan on getting any penetration. I don't consider the loss of range due to cold weather to be a big deal. Tesla's have plenty of range to begin with so the reduction is not an issue. Plus we know that the Model S handles well in the snow. So get moving Elon and add some service centers in the "under-penetrated" areas. Heck, for me even Rochester will do in the short run. An hour drive is not unreasonable. Three hours is outrageous, even on a sunny summer day.

I tried to start a thread in the New England section of the site about service centers and got not interest. Really makes me wonder.

It appears that Tesla is following up on Elon's comment about further cultivating sales in Northeast - there are two new stores/galleries in New Jersey: one in Princeton and another in Cherry Hill. Both locations on the Teslamotors.com are listed without an address, just with a telephone No. and sales hours "By appointment only". Is anybody familiar with these stores? It seems that they are newly opened, but it is strange that they operate "By Appointment Only".

These two locations were discussed over the weekend during the first "Tesla Social" (Summon) event. These are actually just telephone numbers that can be used for arranging a test drive in Princeton, NJ and Cherry Hill, NJ areas for people who prefer not to travel to the closest stores in King of Prussia, PA or Devon, PA.

Can anyone tell me where the largest Tesla store is located in the Bay Area? I think the Dublin store is pretty big from what I've read but don't know if there are others that are bigger.

Also, which store has the widest variety of Tesla accessories such as apparel, etc.?

Kind of a late answer, but Dublin is the largest Bay Area Tesla store I'm aware of (I've been to most but not all of the stores / service centers around here). Also lots of parking space because it used to be a car (Dodge?) dealership. Any particular thing you're looking for?

Not sure about accessories or apparel...intuitively I'd guess Dublin or Fremont but that's based on zero data.

Bruce.

The trip and factory tour are next Friday so your response was timely. Thanks! We'll definitely stop by the Dublin store to see how it compares to the one tiny store in Colorado. We're not looking for anything special but it would be nice to have some choice in apparel and accessories.

Do you know if any stores carry the cycling jerseys?

A team of mystery shoppers visited Tesla stores. They were appalled that they were not asked to buy, and rated Tesla salesmen (actually product specialists) the worst in general salesmanship, but the best at discussing features unique from competition.

Electrek wrote an article about it titled: Tesla hilariously finishes dead last in mystery shoppers study, salesmen found to act like "museum curators"

Well Curt, what do you expect? There's already plenty of demand, Tesla Motors can wait for the customers to realize they really "NEED" a Tesla.
