It is only my opinion but in general I think hacking should outright be illegal unless it is for assisting in making a platform more secure. In this case when you hack a system and publish/brag the results without allowing the software manufacturer a chance to correct the issue then you are IMO illegally hacking. YES, I think people should get paid for their work in finding vulnerabilities. It should not be done as blackmail tho.Mod note: It is not at all clear that this article is true. --ggr

Then assign people from the committee to head task forces to determine the various challenges involved in manufacturing batteries rather than just buying a bunch of "Lithium" Duracells...Step 2. Put together a committee to study the discussions of manufacturing batteries.
Even better, owners have to take the cars to the dealerships in order to have the new "corrected" software installed... maybe they can sell them a CGI eHummer while they're there. The salesmen will have a field day...GM is doing so well with BEV's they just recalled 69,000 Bolts with fire risk problems...
I do?
You must have me confused with someone else.
Eric Berger says it perfectly: We have come a LONG way on rocket reuse when the need to recover a first stage booster delays a crew launch. A very LONG way.FYI the SpaceX Crew-1 launch is now 7:27 p.m. EST Sunday, Nov. 15, due to weather.

The original Keen Labs attacks that are mentioned in the actual paper relied on the owner accepting a wifi connection to a hostile access point. Thanks for reminding me of this, because in the video he says something about the cellular data connection, but the car is connected to wifi:Plus, many of the hacks were only possible by plugging into the port, not over the air. This is just another FUD hit piece.
Why in the hell did Ark ever allow that option to be part of their agreement with Resolute? What did they initially get in return? Something seems awry with this, anxious to hear more from Cathie.Trouble appears to be brewing at Ark Investment

Understand, but I would be surprised if an option of this magnitude were included in any investment agreement they had. I've been involved in contract management most of my career and this is tantamount to giving away the store if you become successful. In fact, it would be a deal breaker for me were I to make a substantial investment in an organization with such a clause. That's why I think there is more to this than meets the eye and why I'm interested to hear more from Cathie's perspective.Sometimes when in the early phases of a new venture deals favor those bringing the cash or other necessary benefits. Think about Tesla with MB and Toyota investment.
Looking closer at the video it appears the car is logged onto WiFi. I am betting they did one of the oldest tricks in the book, which is to spoof a WiFi signal and get people to log into it.Mod note: It is not at all clear that this article is true. --ggr
