Funny, customers don't mind scalping dealers. Like Bolt owners scalping Chevrolet dealers $15k worth.
I don't really get your point, TBH, but I think we both, and pretty much everyone who reads this, will agree that the US dealer model sucks
On manipulation and intraday patterns:
getting old
I wish others would just shut up about it
if real, exploit and profit
if real, and so predictable, reporting on it before during after is kind of like saying the sun came up, the sun is coming up, look out for the sun to come up later on.
I disagree, I've been hanging here for five years now and I still get insights on such posts, granted maybe not as much as when I started investing and knew zilch about the dark world of stock manipulation, but there are plenty of new folks that might pass by that have no clue about this

What I think could be dropped is the continual posting of the current SP, I think we all have an open stock ticker in front of us, so it's necessary. Talking about resistance levels and the like though is useful

And on that note, we just hit $776 in pre-pre-market 😋

Hope that $800 doesn't fall too soon, would love a big fight towards Friday close

TSLA Pre-Market Quotes

Data last updated Apr 14, 2021 04:39 AM ET.

Consolidated Last Sale$777.30 +14.98 (+1.97%)
Pre-Market Volume136,983
Pre-Market High$780.00 (04:36:02 AM)
Pre-Market Low$760.36 (04:00:02 AM)

Volume is very strong for this early hour at 137K already. We've had multiple days in the past month with the total pre-market down in that territory.

Bodes well, I think.

Cheers!

The whole stock market is nothing more than a shell game played by the wealthy and powerful to engineer more wealth and power for themselves.
Hmm, more Kabuki Theatre than shell game, I think... ;)

What I'm most impressed by is that TSLA now has a market cap north of $600 billion and yet it's this easily manipulated. The amount of wealth and power required to manipulate an S&P 500 component with that kind of market cap exists and we saw it deployed almost effortlessly to contain the SP last week until those with wealth and power were properly positioned and ready to let it rise. The whole stock market is nothing more than a shell game played by the wealthy and powerful to engineer more wealth and power for themselves.
Question: what does “properly positioned“ mean? In my simple, non-options brain, I imagine a bunch of TSLA synthetic shares sold to depress/control the SP providing time to sell a bunch of non-TSLA dog-sugar stock to raise cash so that real TSLA could be bought to cover the naked shorting AND accumulate the real deal.

Is that even close?

Or maybe they unwind their synthetics pre-ER, spike the SP, sell 4/30 $900 cc's like they're going out of fashion, then naked short the hell out of $TSLA again on Tuesday 27th - create a "sell the news" event...

Strikes me as a very plausible and possible scenario, I'm almost banking on it

Customers are never scalping dealers. If a dealer wants to part with a car with a $15k discount, it's because it still makes them more money than to keep it on the lot.

So, FSD iz nearing GA (i.e. v1.0),this means they will recognice almost full amount of sold FSD as pure profit.

A billion, two, three?
I think optimistically they recognize about 50% of FSD revenue with v9 general release. Realistically perhaps closer to 35%. Still good though as software features like that are almost pure profit.

>> Realistically perhaps closer to 35%.

Why only a half or a third? To leave a buffer for future?
That may be smart.

Elon is not saying it is to be-all-end-all-no-possible-improvement-left-complete, he is saying feature complete, needing no interventions in common situations.
What is a common situation is left to interpretation and allows him to decide what to do.

Beautiful.

Some was already recognized with smart summon. Someone here will know.

I got busted... how do I ask people’s input on Coinbase without getting booted off topic? Compare apples to oranges to crack.... thank you for shooting that arrow through row of axe handles for me.... if I can snatch some shares up before it bursts out, I shall plan to jump off that train at 150billion market cap!
@buttershrimp -- I think this thread is what you want: What other tech stock to consider?

For Coinbase, you could also try here: Bitcoin, Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Discussion Thread

definitely.

although i think people posting "impressive walkdown" and "look at all that manipulation!!" posts literally any time the stock does anything other than go up is also somewhat redundant and low-value.

The general belief is that they have already recognized old FSD sales to around 50%. I think the latest note about this in the ER was probably 18 months or so ago. So probably still at that level. The $2 billion or whatever value on the books now is the remaining 50%

Even if they put out a v1.0 that was level 5 they still probably can't recognize the full amount since they will have 'some' cost to continue development. Thinking they'll probably hold back the last 5-10% until the car is no longer in use.

I'm guessing they'll recognize another 25% (of the original amount) when the next major version come out. So up to 75% or so.

The great thing with subscriptions though is of course that customers are paying monthly for whatever version exist at the time, and the development for whatever exist that month already is done so at the end of every month they should be able to recognize 100% from subscriptions.

Tesla related: mainstream car buyers in UK - positive exposure

Widely watched CarWow video (680k views) on "future small Tesla" from a company who specialise in selling/leasing discounted cars, so I'm surprised they are so even handed on Tesla. Using lots of battery day slides, comparing to other UK/EU available cars like Zoe, showing how Audi/Mercedes started with tall SUVs and now offering smaller cars, Audi GT "foot garage" (battery cutaway to keep car low). Describing cost trends, overall very positive for Tesla/EVs

Large reach to general public, CarWow Youtube channel has 5.5 million subscribers (comparison: Hyperchange 152k, Now you know 250k, Tesla Daily/Rob Maurer 160k, Top Gear 8 milion)

Comments mixed but a quick scan shows many are enthusiastic - my opinion is that the form factor is much better for most people in the UK

You can't select Tesla from the CarWow main page, but can get to a page featuring Model 3/S/X with offers on the 3 (New Tesla cars | Reviews of Tesla models showing "carwow prices from £411 / month" - more details eventually gets to Tesla Model 3 Lease deals from £411pm

Pricing might not be real, I have an account already & I might update when/if I get offers through

Following another link leads to a "discontinued car" page Sign up on carwow | carwow.co.uk). Website a bit confused...

Edit: review page (text) & video Tesla Model 3 Review 2021
Edit2: I want to see media like this lead to a collapse of ICE/Hybrid car sales, with people keeping old ICE going until they can get electrics. Only then will some of the car companies go full electric, making hard decisions now (and might survive).
