Calling it: He’s wrong. They won’t rebound and the best talent of them will end up working for him. They’ll get crushed beneath the monster’s feet that is Tesla.

But I expect nothing less from Elon than his everlasting optimism. You’ve got to love that about him. No matter how dire things get, he’s encouraging and hopeful. It’s admirable.

It's interesting they make a comparison to Microsoft and Nvidia coming up with their own 16-bit floating point standard in 2002, in order to expand consumer-grade computing possibilities. Tesla doing the same 20 years later, going to ironically primitive 8-bit in order to achieve a mind-boggling number of FLOPS. We've been hearing about first-principles thinking for a long time but, somehow, Tesla still is the only one doing it.
