Scientific American - today: Northeast States Abandon Cap-and-Trade Plan for Cars

Excerpt:

The Transportation and Climate Initiative—a cap-and-trade program covering cars in three Northeastern states and the District of Columbia—was abandoned last week after Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont (D) and Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker (R) pulled the plug on the program.

The announcement represents the latest setback for carbon pricing plans in the United States, and it raises questions about how policymakers in the Northeast plan to tackle emissions from transportation, by far the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in the region.

Primetime FUD in the UK this evening...

What a load of uninformed rubbish. Basically blaming Tesla for all sorts... including trespassing miners being injured because they scaled Glencore's security fences! Complete hit-job saying Tesla is at the heart of all the issues with Cobalt etc.

Unbelievable that this was able to make it on to the BBC.

For a mere $20,000 USD, or $25,400 CAD, Model S Plaid owners can purchase a Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit. This makes it the most expensive item on the Tesla Shop by a wide margin. (h/t: @BLKMDL3)

If you purchased your Model S Plaid with the 19″ Tempest wheels, you are going to have to spend even more money and purchase a set of 21″ Arachnid wheels.

Tesla says the kit is only compatible with the larger, optional wheels.

That'll make a nice Christmas Summer Stock(ing) stuffer... for MARGINS! :D

Cheers!

Nice, but damb that’s about 2x what the P car folks charge for such an upgrade - not including wheel alterations.
Just about the cost of replacements on P cars 🤣

I'd be curious about if they are chopped or continuous rotors. If they are continuous they will last forever and perform a lot better. If they are chopped, nobody driving the street should ever purchase.

934,091....such a seemingly random number, but he's sold that exact # of shares on 4 separate days.
No (real) mystery. The tax has to be withheld at a certain percentage, so when he exercises the same number of options, the same number have to be sold to cover the tax liability, somewhat independent of the actual stock price at the time.
