Tesla type 2 cable supply: no longer standard

Hi All,
I wonder has anyone else noticed that in the last few days tesla UK has changed what it supplies with cars. Previously, Tesla said
"A separate Type 2 charging cable for public stations is included with the vehicle at delivery". No caveats.

Now this same statement has a sub note, "For Tesla's ordered after 17 April 2017"

Anyone who ordered before that date, and has yet to pick up, please note.

Whatever the price of this, they can't arbitrarly decide to offer you less than what was advertised at time of sale.

Has anyone picked up a car recently and had this out with tesla?

AFAIK it has been some tome since a Type 2 cable was supplied by Tesla. Certainly mine ordered in October and delivered in March only had their fairly useless basic cable with 3 pin and commando plugs.

Do you now get the Type2 and not the UMC?

History here is that pre-launch the spec said "UMC" (in line with all other markets). Given the OLEV grant offering (at the time) free home type2 and the lack of a UK 13A plug 'head' for the UMC, the early cars were delivered with type2 and no UMC. A standalone 13A plug EVSE (made by Mennekes) was available as an option. They would not sell you a UMC (though some people managed to acquire them from foreign service centres).

Later, the UMC became available to buy in the UK, and the 13A head for it was developed.

Then the standard supply switched to the UMC being supplied with the car and the Type2 available as optional extra. For a short transition period, some people received both at no cost.

That has been the position for some time now, and I had not noticed the website spec changing back to including the type2.
